History
The Taranaki Emergency Services Ball was established in 2014 in an attempt to celebrate the work that the Taranaki Emergency Services do. There is a strong focus on building relationships while socialising with other first responders in a more relaxed environment than the “normal” front line situations we often find ourselves in. This event has proven to be a huge success for strengthening relationships in our first responders as well as a hugely valuable way to ensure that our own mental wellbeing is taken care of.
At each event, a local Taranaki charity or not-for-profit is selected to support, all profits from Ticket Sales and Auctions are donated to the chosen cause.
The Taranaki Emergency Services Ball welcomes all first responders, from Police, Ambulance, Fire and Rescue Helicopter crew to Hospital staff, physiotherapists and healthcare professionals that help in the aftermath of incidents in Taranaki.
The 2025 Emergency Services Ball
The 2025 Emergency Services Ball was held at The Devon Hotel on 22 March, bringing together firefighters and supporters from near and far, all dressed in their best and ready for an unforgettable evening. The atmosphere was buzzing from the moment doors opened, with guests catching up, sharing stories, and celebrating the incredible work our emergency services do throughout the year.
Entertainment for the night was delivered by local legends Faultline, whose live music kept the dance floor full right to the end. Guests also enjoyed both live and silent auctions, featuring a range of generously donated items and experiences. Thanks to the outstanding support and generosity of everyone who attended, the event raised an impressive $7,000 for our chosen charities, Taranaki Retreat and Waimanako.
It was a night filled with connection, celebration, and community spirit—one we won’t forget anytime soon.
The 2025 Taranaki Emergency Services Ball supported Taranaki Retreat & Waimanako.
The Retreat provided a vital place for people in our community who needed a break — those facing crisis, distress, suicidal thoughts or deep grief. It offered a calm time-out space with skilled support and connected services, walking alongside individuals and whānau as they worked toward a way forward.
